A public-private partnership founded in the Liverpool City Region and supported by UKRI's Strength in Places Fund is known as iiCON. It was created to hasten the discovery and development of fresh, cutting-edge drugs and therapies for infectious illnesses with the goal of improving world health. Leading UK organisations working on infectious disease research and development are represented by iiCON, which is led by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). These organisations include the University of Liverpool, Unilever UK, the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Infex Therapeutics, Evotec, and the AMR Centre, all of which are based in Alderley Park, Cheshire.
